57hours Expands Global Footprint, Seed Funding Lifts Reach to 53 Countries

The ‘Uber-like’ app for outdoor guides last week announced $2.3 million in funding raised. It will be dedicated to customer growth and expansion into new markets around the globe.

57hours touts itself as a “one-click” marketplace for adventure-guide services. Through its mobile and desktop platforms, customers can reserve climbing, backcountry skiing, hiking, and mountain biking trips with guides in locales as far-flung as the Alps, Iceland, and the American West.

Now, 57hours announced, its catalog runs significantly deeper. After a successful seed-funding round, the company has expanded to 53 countries. The company said it now offers 400 “diverse adventure destinations” thanks to its 350 registered guides.

57hours Expands

The company’s newest experiences include a nordic skiing trip in Svalbard, Norway, and a sailing trip among the country’s fjord lands. Each trip lasts 8 days. As a more affordable option, the company also launched an 8-day hike in New Zealand at $1,685 per person.

Affiliated guides can rake in tidy revenue: 57hours said its top-earning guide service had booked $500,000 in trips in 2022 alone.

57hours co-founder and CEO Viktor Marohnić said his team’s goal is “to become the top, most-trusted global booking engine for human-powered outdoor adventure.” The company takes its name from the weekend warrior world: the total time between Friday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at midnight.

“Our mission is getting more people to spend more hours outdoors,” he said. “We also work to help our partner guides succeed business-wise in doing what they love.”

Go to the company website to check out the recently expanded range of guided trips 57hours offers. There, you can also read guides and reviews of various locales from experts and other 57hours users as well as preview several trips via scheduled webinars.
