2023 Ford Bronco Sport Black Diamond: More Skid Plates, Off-Roadeo Eligible
For 2023, the Bronco Sport gets a new off-road package — Black Diamond — and promises every new Bronco owner access to all four of its upcoming ‘Off-Roadeo’ events.
Ford sought to make a splash among 2023 Bronco Sport owners and off-road enthusiasts today, issuing two updates. First, the Bronco Sport Black Diamond Off-Road Package will now be available on the Big Bend and Outer Banks editions. Essentially, the package adds more skid plates and some graphics.
Also as of today, every 2023 Bronco owner will get access to every scheduled “Off-Roadeo” owner event. There, Ford staff will open miles of curated trails for owners to test their rigs, and educate them about various capabilities of their Bronco two-door, four-door, or Sport SUV model. Previously only full-size Bronco buyers were eligible to attend the Off-Roadeo events.
“For adventurers who want to get more from their Bronco Sport, we’re enhancing the ownership experience by offering more trail capability with the new Black Diamond Off-Road Package, plus an included opportunity to learn what their SUV can do at Bronco Off-Roadeo,” Enthusiast Vehicle Marketing Manager Mark Grueber said in a press release.
“Today, nearly 90% of Bronco Sport customers that attend Off-Roadeo are likely to go off-roading again, and 97% of customers are more knowledgeable and confident doing so, furthering our goal of getting into the wild.”
2023 Bronco Sport Black Diamond Package
The new Black Diamond off-road package for the Bronco Sport consolidates four steel bash plates designed to cover key 4×4 powertrain areas. They include a front metal skid plate, fuel tank protection, and a canister shield.
From there, the package includes 17-inch Carbonized Gray low-gloss aluminum wheels that wear 225/65R17 all-terrain tires. These upgrades offer real off-road performance and capability.
And for a touch of flair, the Black Diamond package on the Bronco Sport adds a matte black hood graphic, plus lower body graphics on the driver and front-passenger doors.
Bronco Sport Off-Roadeo
For the first time, Bronco Sport owners will be welcomed at the Bronco Off-Roadeo events. Every 2023 Bronco Sport purchase will come with a complimentary visit to one Bronco Off-Roadeo.
Ford says Bronco Off-Roadeo events include driver activities for “all skill levels.” They’ll take place across four locations in the U.S.: Horseshoe Bay, Texas (near Austin); Mt. Potosi, Nev. (near Las Vegas); Moab, Utah; and Gilford, N.H. Off-road experts will lead drives, where owners can follow their lead to learn how to squeeze the most capability out of their Bronco, now including the Bronco Sport.
In the press release, Ford called Off-Roadeo “the ultimate opportunity to build confidence, expand off-road adventure skills and explore everything Bronco models have to offer.”
