Ohlins Suspension Brings Uncaged 11 Models of the YT Izzo, Capra and Tues MTBs
YT has stepped up its offering of the Izzo trail bike, Capra enduro bike, and Tues downhill bike, with new Uncaged 11 models boasting suspension components from Ohlins and the latest drivetrain components from SRAM. With pricing at £5,299, £5,499 and £4,299, respectively, these are some the more expensive iterations rolled out by YT to date. Glancing through the spec lists, my opinion of YT as a brand offering incredible value for money is further cemented.
Here’s an overview of the new builds.
YT Capra Uncaged 11
The flagship enduro bike from YT is the Capra, a bike raced at the EDR World Cup by none other than Jack Moir, among other talented riders. While usually available in both 29″ and MX configurations, the Uncaged 11 model launching today is reserved only for the more bike park-oriented MX version. In a full carbon frame, this one is available in sizes S-XXL.
Highlight components include the 170mm travel Ohlins RXF38 M.2 fork with a highly-customizable air spring and independent adjustment of rebound, and high- and low-speed compression damping, paired with the Ohlins TTX22 M coil shock damping 170mm of rear wheel travel. Then of course there’s the SRAM GX Eagle AXS Transmission, a group we have personally found to be thoroughly reliable on this very frameset.
Other components of note include the Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Carbon Wheelset fitted with a Maxxis Assegai/Minion DHRII pairing, SRAM Code RSC brakes, and RockShox AXS Reverb dropper seat post. Claimed weight in a size small comes in at 16.1 kg.
Pick up the YT Capra MX Uncaged 11 for £5,499, or the same quantity of USD or EUR. In Canada, customers will need to part with $7,699 CAD.
YT Izzo Uncaged 11
The Izzo is YT’s 130mm travel trail bike furnished with a complete 29″ wheelset. The Uncaged 11 model released today is the premium offering of the Izzo, with a carbon frame fronted by a 140mm travel Ohlins RXF36 M2 fork, paired with an Ohlins TTX1 Air shock.
This one rolls on the Crankbrothers Synthesis XCT carbon wheelset home to Maxxis Minion DHRII tires. It too benefits from a RockShox AXS Reverb dropper seat post, with stopping managed by SRAM G2 RSC 4-piston brakes; a 200mm rotor up front, with a 180mm rotor in the rear.
The YT Izzo Uncaged 11 will set you back £5,299, or the same number of Euros or US Dollars. In Canada, it sells for $7,499 CAD. Pick it up in sizes S-XXL.
YT Tues Uncaged 11
Last but certainly not least is the YT Tues Uncaged 11, a 27.5″ wheeled downhill bike with an aluminum frame, with 200mm of rear wheel travel and a 200mm fork. This one Is also home to the so-called Swedish Gold, with an Ohlins DH38 Air TTX18 fork and an Ohlins TTX22 M coil shock.
Other highlights include the SRAM Code RSC brakes, Crankbrothers Synthesis DH Alloy wheelset fitted with Maxxis Assegai tires of the MaxxGrip DH Casing flavor, the SRAM XO1 DH drivetrain and an SDG I-Beam Alloy saddle.
The Tues Uncaged 11 is available in sizes S-XXL, and retails at £4,299, or the same number of EUR or USD. In Canada, MSRP is $5,999 CAD. In a size S, the YT Tues 27.5″ Uncaged 11 weighs a claimed 17.4 kg.
Check out the YT website for more build options of all of these bikes, some of which appear to be heavily discounted at the time of writing.
