New Specialized x Fjällräven Gear Includes Expandable Backpack/Hip Pack & Sleep Poncho!

Teaming up again to drop some new outdoor gear, cycling’s Specialized and Swedish hiking experts, Fjällräven (pronounced (fyel-ray-vn) are at it again. This collab seems to target closer-to-home adventures.

Pieces in the collection are focusing on motion, hybrid functionality, and reliability. In hopes of optimizing both the riding and camping experience by being “comfortable and fun to use on all Spring and Summer bikepacking adventures”.

In the next 27 years or so, it’s said that two-thirds of the Earth’s population will be living in cities and towns. S/F Expandable Hip Pack

Here’s some hybrid functionality for you. For those of you that prefer a compact hip pack but could use the extra space of a backpack every once in a while. With the S/F Expandable Hip Pack, you don’t have to bring both. The pack expands from a 4.5-liter capacity to a whopping 11.5 liters.

S/F Sun Shirt

Designed to offer the user shade and ventilation, the Sun Shirt has been optimized for riding during warmer days. The collar even offers protection from the sun. The lower back of the Sun Shirt is equipped with a zippered pocket.

The shirt combines on-bike functionality with off-bike style and is said to ventilate extremely well while keeping skin in the shade. It is cut for a regular fit with a slightly pre-bent sleeve insert and articulated elbow.

S/F Gear Vest

The Gear Vest is optimized for on-bike functionality. It is equipped with a reinforced, windproof front that carries multiple pockets. It has expandible back pockets for extra carrying capacity with easy access openings.

Using light and durable fabrics and trims, with a short fit for little to no restrictions on the bike. Sporting an adjustable waist and packs into its own chest pocket.

S/F Handlebar Rolltop

Providing easy access storage whether on or off the bike, the Handlebar Rolltop is also lightweight and waterproof. It has 13 liters of volume that can be “overpacked to hold more”. The Hypalon details on the front can be used as extra attachment points.

You can “firm up” the rolltop by using its included compression straps. It also opens upward in a “rider-friendly” way. When off of the bike it can be worn as a shoulder/cross-body bag.

S/F Rain Poncho

Keeping you dry while both on and off the bike can be important, and this fully waterproof, unisex poncho will provide performance and comfort while doing just that. The hood on the poncho is designed to be optimized for helmets.

It also uses taped seams and reflective details on the sleeves and the back. It’s got a longer cut at the back for on-bike seating comfort. The extended cuffs cover the rider’s hands and the inner chest band keeps the bulk from hanging down and catching unwanted wind while in the riding position.
