New Rotor MTB INspider powermeter is lighter, sleeker, still feature-rich
Built on Rotor’s modular mix-and-match system that fits any bike, the new INspider mountain bike power meter trims 32% off the prior model’s weight to come in at just 105g.
And it does that without paring down the features, offering dual leg power measurement with +/-1.5% accuracy and sending power, cadence, and L/R balance to your cycling computer. Open the app and it’ll show you a 360º pedal stroke analysis with torque vectoring, and even guide you toward the optimum chainring angle if you’re running their Q-Ring oval chainrings.
The new MTB INspider comes with new 100×4 BCD chainrings, offered in 30/32/34/36 tooth counts in both round and oval shapes.
They use Rotor’s Universal Tooth Design to work with 11- and 12-speed chains from SRAM and Shimano (we’re confirming if that means the new T-Type chains, too).
The power meter’s electronics are housed in an IP67 sealed alloy body with a gel impact protection layer. A magnetic charging port makes recharging it quick and easy, and they claim 350 hours of run time per charge. It’s rated accurate from -20ºC to 60ºC (-4ºF to 140ºF).
Pair it with Rotor’s Kapic alloy or superlight Kapic Carbon crank arms, then choose from one of four spindles to fit your standard, Boost or SuperBoost mountain bike frame. Each piece is separate, so you can mix and match to get the exact system you want.
The new MTB INspider retails for $499 (€449) and chainrings are $85 (€79.90). Complete cranksets with the power meter are $899 (Kapic, €799) and $1,099 (Kapic Carbon, €999).
