Guerrilla Gravity Smash V2 Gets More Carbon & All-Mountain Suspension Revision Boost
The new Smash V2 boasts updated geometry and revised suspension kinematics. And it also even offers a bit more rear travel, plus longer chainstays. That new 150mm of travel and 29” wheels already puts this bike in the ‘long-travel quiver killer’ category, but the new refinements to improve pedaling efficiency and increase progression should make it even more capable than ever on any type of trail.
Guerrilla Gravity Smash V2 carbon all-mountain bike
While the Smash V1’s rear travel was 145mm, the V2 has been bumped up to 150mm. The frame is intended for 150-170mm forks, and it comes stock on 29” wheels only. Guerrilla Gravity does not recommend a mixed-wheel setup for the Smash V2. Instead, they suggest mullet fans check out their 165mm Megatrail bike instead.
Frame Updates & Specs:
The Smash V2 frame features vibration-damping Revved Carbon in the front end and its swingarm. And it has aluminum seatstays and an aluminum linkage. Guerrilla Gravity claims this carbon is extremely tough, and uses a more sustainable finishing process than other conventional carbon fibers.
Plus, the new carbon swingarm offers 50% more lateral stiffness than the outgoing aluminum version. And the updated frame comes in 90g lighter than the V1, too. The new carbon chainstays are also 6mm longer than the V1’s to improve climbing traction and better balance the rider between both wheels.
The Smash V2 features Guerrilla Gravity’s GeoAdjust headset, which offers Long and Short positions that adjust Reach (and wheelbase) by +/-10mm.
As for fitment standards, the Smash V2 uses a 73mm threaded BB. The frame includes ISCG05 chain guide/bash guard mounts, and can accept up to a 34t chainring.
Rear axle spacing is 12x148mm Boost, and the V2 frame features SRAM’s UDH derailleur hanger – future proof. Max rear tire clearance is 2.5”. The Smash V2 fits 30.9mm seatposts – stock builds come with a 150mm travel dropper post on size S2 frames, and a 170mm on S3 and S4 sizes.
Guerrilla Gravity takes an interesting approach to kinda-external internal cable routing, with a removable cover running down one side of the down tube.
Suspension:
The Smash V2 has seen suspension refinements that aim to make the bike more versatile and capable. The updated platform is now more supple in its initial stroke, but overall more progressive than the Smash V1.
Anti-squat has been tuned to provide solid pedaling without sacrificing good traction on bumpy climbs. This was achieved by moving the main pivot location down a bit, which also helped decrease chain growth when the bike is deep in its travel. To sum it up, these refinements should make the new Smash V2 more efficient on climbs, and more bottomless on the descents – the best of both worlds.
Smash V2 frames are available in Size 2, 3, or 4. Check out the above chart for all the figures, but some key numbers are as follows:
The Smash V2’s head tube angle is now quite a bit slacker at 64.7° across all sizes, and the effective seat tube angle ranges from 77.1° to 76.8° depending on frame size. Reach numbers are on the long side, with the shortest possible frame Reach at 446mm on the S2 frame (in short mode) and the longest at 510mm on the S4 (in Long mode). Given that each size has its own 10mm reach adjustment, Guerrilla Gravity’s three frame sizes should offer an appropriate fit for most riders.
Chainstay length is now 440mm and BB height is 343mm for all frame sizes. While standover height doesn’t vary hugely, it and Stack measurements do grow as the frames get larger.

There are four complete Guerrilla Gravity Smash V2 builds available: From entry-level to top-end they are called The Ride, Rally, Race, and Launch Edition.
The Smash V2 is also available as a frameset for $3195, or you can build up a custom bike through GG’s website. Even the complete bikes offer some wheelset and suspension customization options, as well.
Furthermore, Guerrilla Gravity’s MTBs follow their Modular Frame Platform concept, so riders can swap front and rear ends from different models to create a custom bike that suits their style or terrain. The new Smash V2 rear end is compatible with all current Revved Carbon front ends. Aftermarket kits in current and past colorways will be available soon.
Guerrilla Gravity Smash V2 Launch Edition:
$6995 MSRP (Currently $1000 off through GG’s website – Only for a few more days!)
For full specs on each model check out GG’s website, but here’s a quick rundown on each:
The Launch Edition comes with a Fox 36 Float Factory Grip2 150mm fork, and a Fox DHX2 Factory rear shock. It runs a mixed SRAM X01/GX Eagle mechanical drivetrain, with carbon GX cranks and Code RSC brakes. Other build spec highlights include Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Alloy wheels, and an e*thirteen carbon handlebar.
Guerrilla Gravity Smash V2 Race:
$6995 MSRP (Currently $1000 off)
The Smash V2 Race gets Fox suspension, with a 36 Float Factory Grip2 150mm fork and a Float X Factory rear shock. The drivetrain is SRAM X01, with a carbon Descendant crank and Code RSC brakes. This model also rolls on Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Alloy wheels, and gets that e*thirteen carbon handlebar.
Guerrilla Gravity Smash V2 Rally:
$6295 MSRP (Currently $750 off)
The Rally build switches to a RockShox fork, with a 150mm Lyrik Ultimate RC2 up front. Fox still supplies their Float X Performance rear shock. This model features SRAM’s GX drivetrain, and still includes carbon cranks but goes with SRAM G2 RSC brakes. The Rally build gets DT Swiss M1900 i30 wheels, and yep, you get e*thirteen’s carbon handlebar, too.
Guerrilla Gravity Smash V2 Ride:
$4995 MSRP (Currently $500 off)
The Ride model’s fork is RockShox’s 150mm Lyrik Select, and the rear shock is a RockShox Deluxe Select. SRAM’s NX drivetrain handles gears and cranking, and a set of Code R brakes reel you in. The Ride model includes Sun Ringle Duroc SD37 wheels, and you do get an e-thirteen handlebar (but not a carbon one).
Guerrilla Gravity Smash V2 Frameset:
$3195
The Smash V2 frames come in two colors: Stealth or Colorado Racing Green. Guerrilla Gravity’s bikes are all designed and manufactured in Colorado.
