Feedback Upgrades, Renames Pro Mechanic Lightweight Mobile Bike Repair Stand
Feedback Sports is probably best known by bicycle mechanics for their lightweight Pro Elite mobile work stand, which now gets a number of upgrades and a new name as the Pro Mechanic bicycle repair stand. Everything the traveling amateur and professional bike wrench has always loved is still there, just now with an improved clamp head, additional stability, and better serviceability.
The benchmark packable work stand just got better…
Feedback Sports Pro Mechanic light, folding bike repair stand
You’ll find the iconic red anodized aluminum Feedback folding bike repair stand in the pits of World Cup cyclocross and mountain bike races, ProTour road paddocks, in the home workshop of amateur bike mechanics, and even being pulled out of the dedicated workspace of independent bike shops as they fix bikes in the parking lot or at public events. The reason you see it everywhere is that it is light, stable, durable, and packs down quickly enough that it can be tossed in the trunk of a car or packed for easy air travel.
Now, the flagship Feedback Elite Pro gets rebranded as the Feedback Pro Mechanic, upgrading its jaws, clamp, and hardware for easier use, improved stiffness, and a longer service life.
What’s new?
Much like we saw with the new extra-burly Pro Mechanic HD stand last summer, the new Pro Mechanic repair stand gets upgraded to make modern mechanics’ lives easier and to better deal with heavier bikes – all while staying lightweight for maximum portability. That means a new one-handed metal spinner knob handle at the front to more quickly & more finely clamp your seatpost – with the same proven red Speed Ratchet button. And the bigger rear 3-spoke tri knob to tighten the overall clamp body, and more easily keep the bike from rotating once it is clamped in place.
The clamp jaws themselves also get a new set of tool-free replaceable rubber pads for secure grip on the bike, but easier service once it’s time for new jaws.
Hidden inside, the internal clutch now gets 110% more holding power, so you can spin your bike anywhere in the stand’s 360° clamp rotation to access whatever component you need to see & repair.
And lastly, the upper clamp for the telescoping mast gets a new simplified quick-release design for improved stability and longer life.
Tech details
Below the new head, clamp, clutch & collar, the rest of the lightweight Pro Mechanic stand’s 6061-T6 aluminum construction, quick-release telescoping design, and 3-legged folding tripod base remain unchanged, just with updated rubber feet for better stability. It packs down the same size as before – 5.125×10.35×45.25″ (13x26x115cm), just as easily as ever. And it’s still lightweight at a claimed 12.6lb / 5.7kg.
It has the same 10-35lb regular working load range as its predecessor to repair most road, CX, gravel & mountain bikes weighing 4.5-16kg and lightweight ebikes, with a max 75lb/34kg load capacity accommodating most but not all bike service. Like Feedback’s other workstands, it also follows a lifetime right-to-repair philosophy which means you will always be able to buy replacement parts to keep your repair stand in service.
Feedback Sports Pro Mechanic – Pricing & availability
The new Feedback Sports Pro Mechanic folding bike repair stand sells for $395 / 425€, and comes with a 3-year warranty. A separate padded, weather-resistant travel bag is also available for the new stand (or you can still use the one from the original Elite Pro). It also continues Feedback’s more sustainable, reduced waste concept, arriving in 100% paper & pulp packaging with no plastic at all. The newly upgraded travel work stand is available now globally through Feedback distributors, bike shops, and online retailers.
